While most attendees at Fashion Week were sporting designer looks, with hefty price tags to match, Australian stylist Donny Galella recently took a more affordable approach.

Galella teamed up with budget retailer Spotlight to re-purpose existing pieces in his wardrobe, using Spotlight’s extensive range of DIY fashion and craft supplies.

The result?

Some very stylish, sustainable and ultra-affordable looks.

Galella has now revealed how he achieved his bejewelled blazer look, in a video posted to his Instagram.

“Inspired by a Valentino blazer, I found supplies at Spotlight and did a little DIY,” Galella said.

“I gave my Year 10 formal suit a beautiful glow up, using supplies from Spotlight, and gave my old Gucci sneakers a new look too.”

To achieve the look with his blazer, Galella used accessories from Spotlight and attached them with Tiger glue.

He then “used heavy books and bottles to weigh them down” before letting the jacket dry.

He also spraypainted his sneakers with silver spray from Spotlight to give them a shiny transformation.

Galella’s bejewelled blazer tutorial on Instagram has had more than 64,000 views.

“I absolutely love this,” one said.

“Love this Donny, so creative and sustainable,” added a second.

“Omg, I adore this, I want one,” a third wrote.
