A man has been found stabbed to death in a park in Brisbane’s south.

The 22-year-old man was found with stab wounds to his chest at a park on Mortimer Rd at Acacia Ridge about 12.10am on Sunday.

Paramedics treated the man at the park but he could not be revived.

“There were a number of people in the park here,” Acting Inspector Craig McDonald said.

“It appears an altercation has taken place and the victim has been stabbed.

“There are a number of people assisting detectives with inquiries.”

Queensland Police allege a man known to the victim fled the park before officers arrived.

A 30-year-old man has since been arrested and charged with murder.

The man is scheduled to appear before Richlands Magistrates Court on Monday afternoon.

There is no ongoing threat to the public, McDonald said.

Anyone with relevant information is urged to come forward.
