Former Matildas striker Larissa Crummer has announced she and her wife Jodi are expecting a third child.
Crummer surprised the Australian football community when she retired in March at just 28 years old, declaring it was time to put her family first and return home.
But the revelation that a new addition is on the way adds a new layer to the decision.

“Our little family is growing and we couldn’t be happier,” the Crummers shared.
“Baby Crummer due November.”
Former teammates Emily Gielnik and Isobel Dalton were among the friends offering their congratulations while the likes of Amy Sayer and Amy Chapman also celebrated the news.
Crummer played 33 games for the Matildas and her last appearance came in April 2023 before just missing out on the FIFA Women’s World Cup squad.
She spent much of her career at home in the A-League but joined Norwegian side SK Brann early last year.
Despite their domestic season only just getting underway in March, Crummer called time after a defeat to Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals.
Such was her commitment to her family that she gave up football altogether and planned to work solely as a plumber.
“It’s been tough,” Crummer said.
“They have put me first for a long time, now I think it is time that I put them first.
“The two little ones are very young — I miss a lot. I can’t wait to be back home and be part of the family again.”
The Queenslander fought back from several surgeries on a broken leg sustained in 2019 to return to the sport two years later.
Crummer notched up her milestone 100th A-League appearance just weeks before signing with Brann last year.
She made the most of her spare time after missing out on the Matildas’ World Cup squad last year by marrying Jodi in a surprise wedding in July.
“It’s something we were always going to do and there is nothing better then a cheeky surprise for everyone,” the footballer wrote.
“I love you Jods, forever won’t be long enough.”
