Rideshare driver violently assaulted and robbed by passengers in Brisbane

The driver picked up a group of men who then set upon him.
A rideshare driver was allegedly attacked and carjacked in Brisbane.

A Queensland rideshare driver was set upon by his passengers in a violent carjacking in Brisbane’s southwest early Tuesday morning.

The driver picked up a group of men and was driving on Arrabri Ave at Mount Ommaney about 2.25am when the passengers allegedly threatened the 33-year-old and hit him on the back of the head.

The driver handed over personal belongings and his white 2020 Toyota Camry with Queensland registration 033 GY4.

Anyone with dashcam or CCTV in the Arrabri Ave area about the time of the robbery is asked to contact police.
