Three people burnt in car explosion at business north of Adelaide

Three workers have been rushed to hospital with burns after a battery exploded while they were jump-starting a broken-down car at a business north of Adelaide.

South Australian paramedics were called to a business on Mumford Rd in Watercloo Corner at about 12pm on Friday.

They said three people were taken to the Lyell McEwin Hospital with facial and chest injuries.

A spokesperson for the hospital told 7NEWS.com.au that one person had been discharged.

SafeWork SA has confirmed it has dispatched inspectors to the business to investigate.

“SafeWork SA can confirm an incident has occurred at a business at Waterloo Corner where three workers have sustained injuries following the explosion of a battery,” the regulator said.

“We have sent inspectors to the scene.”
