Unborn baby killed, six injured in Ipswich crash

Six people were taken to hospital.
An unborn baby has died, and six people have been injured in a two-car crash in Ipswich. 

An unborn baby has died, and six people have been injured in a two-car crash in Ipswich.

Queensland Police say a Toyota Rav4 and Toyota Hilux were travelling in opposite directions when they crashed on Ipswich Boonah Road in Purga about 5.45pm on Thursday.

A total of six people - three in each car - were taken to hospital.

Among them was a 25-year-old pregnant woman who was a passenger in the Toyota Hilux and was taken to Ipswich Hospital suffering serious injuries. Police say her unborn baby died as a result of the crash.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
