Ailish cut her teeth at The West Australian’s regional mastheads, the South Western Times and Bunbury Herald in WA’s sunny south west, where she covered issues ranging from social affairs, council, court and crime to arts and lifestyle content. She then joined the 7NEWS Perth team before relocating to join the Sydney newsroom as a national reporter. Prior to this, she studied Journalism and Professional Writing and Publishing at Curtin University, where she was the music editor at student-run publication, Grok Magazine. Ailish has a passion for social affairs, women’s issues, human interest stories and travel and can often be found with her nose deep in a book or exploring a new brunch spot.
