It was meant to be a romantic gesture by a lovestruck partner.
But the engagement ring given to one woman has not been accepted in the spirit that was intended.
The newly engaged woman is so shocked by her 1.8 carat diamond ring that she is inviting others to savagely criticise the jewellery.

She has posted a picture of the ring to a Facebook group called “That’s it, I’m ring shaming”.
“I’ve been waiting YEARS for this. I am literally shaking in my boots. Let her rip,” the woman said.
Her post has been met with more than 400 comments, many brutally describing the ring as “hideous”.
“Why did he propose with the ring off the J-LO perfume bottle?” one joked.
“It looks like it’s taking a nap for boring itself to sleep,” added another.
“Why does it look like one of those plastic beads you get in kids’ necklace making kits?” asked a third.
“Take it off and put it a drawer where it belongs,” added another.
The brutal swipe comes just days after another woman confessed she accidentally found an “ugly” engagement ring in her boyfriend’s room.
She stumbled across her engagement ring on her partner’s nightstand.
“Found this on the boyfriend’s nightstand, not a fan,” she said.
“Please roast and then tell me how to tactfully say, ‘No, you need to go get something different’.”
The woman’s post garnered hundreds of comments; some suggesting she sounded ungrateful, with others wondering if the special jewellery item was even meant for her.
“Spicy opinion of the day: buy your own goddamn ring or don’t say anything. Expensive engagement rings as a concept are weird and cringe,” said one.
“Ewww, not a fan of entitled,” added another.
